Desert Sessions – VOL. 11 & 12

Til denne spesielle innspillingen inviterte Homme både legender, samt flere av de beste rockemusikere i øyeblikket: Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top), Stella Mozgawa (Warpaint), Jake Shears (Scissor Sisters), Mike Kerr (Royal Blood), Carla Azar (Autolux, Jack White), Les Claypool (Primus), Matt Sweeney, Matt Berry (What We Do in the Shadows, Toast of London), Libby Grace og Töôrnst Hülpft. Vinylutgaven inneholder et spesielt teksthefte.

King Gizzard & the Wizard Lizard – Murder of the Universe

Murder of the Universe is a concept album split into three separate stories, each containing elements of spoken word to carry a narrative. The first chapter, The Tale of the Altered Beast, explores themes of temptation and tells of a human who stumbles on a mystical human/beast hybrid dubbed the Altered Beast The second chapter, The Lord of Lightning vs. Balrog, focuses on a big battle between two entities dubbed The Lord of Lightning and Balrog, who represent the forces of light and darkness, respectively. The third and final chapter, Han-Tyumi & The Murder of the Universe, is about a cyborg in a digital world who gains consciousness and, in confusion, decides to strive only for what a cyborg cannot do: vomit and die.

Moon Duo – Stars Are the Light

In a lot of ways, Stars Are The Light is the most truly psychedelic Moon Duo album, from its bright sci-fi mythology artwork to the entrancing array of synth sounds the band lean on across its eight songs.
